Kaza led a pretty lazy lifestyle his entire childhood with very little ambition. Dispite his lack of showing it, he loved his family a lot, and was destroyed inside when Jessica died, having had a secret crush on her. He found out that it was all Kallen under Ryoku's command and has ever since worked his life to build the strength and skill to kill them both himself. With his behavior now, most would say his obsession has given him a touch of insanity.
